Mother’s Day Dinner Train

The Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad now offers two special dinner train excursions for the family on the weekends of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

Celebrate Mother’s Day and Father’s Day in style aboard our dinner train! Enjoy a delightful buffet featuring a mouthwatering BBQ, picked up at our depot before boarding, as you and your loved ones embark on a scenic journey filled with love and delicious flavors. Enjoy table seating and meals on their express trip (no layover) from Elbe to Mineral. 

The dinner menu includes pulled pork, vegetarian brats, coleslaw, buckaroo beans, and more. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are also available. Reserve your place at our table.

On Memorial Day Weekend, the serene mountain town of Packwood transforms into a bustling hub, attracting many visitors. The market, sprawling over a mile, is a treasure trove of diverse offerings, from intriguing antiques that whisper tales of the past to exquisite artisan crafts that celebrate the creativity of the present.

Mt. Rainier Fundraising Climb
June 1 – 4, 2024 

The Mount Rainier Fundraising Climb is an opportunity to experience one of the most exciting and physical challenges in the United States.

Participants will not only climb the mountain, but they will do so as part of a team united around a joint mission. This mission is an extraordinary adventure on Mount Rainier with like-minded individuals, all while contributing to The Juniper Fund, which supports families who have lost loved ones while working for expeditions in the Himalayas.

Although previous experience is not required, participants should be physically active and able to participate in a regular workout routine.

The event is guided by some of the most experienced Himalayan guides working on Mount Rainier.

4th Annual Rainier Music Festival

Are you passionate about music? We are, too! The folks at the Rainier Music Festival share your passion and are dedicated to providing an unforgettable experience for music lovers. We’ve put our hearts and souls into crafting an event that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime. 

The Festival offers a full day of music from many genres and some of the best artists in the Pacific Northwest, all presented on the first Saturday in August at the beautiful Ashford County Park and Amphitheater.

​The weekend event starts Friday night with an outdoor Open Mic stage at the Base Camp Bar & Grill in Ashford. It is open to everyone who wants to show and share their musical talents.

The Festival welcomes all families and ages with a no-charge entry for persons 17 and under.

Eatonville Arts and Music Festival
August 2 – 4, 2024

The 54th annual Eatonville Lions Club Arts Festival, a celebration of art, culture, and community, offers fine arts and handcrafted items, food, drink, and live entertainment for the whole family in the scenic foothills of Mt. Rainier. Join nationwide artisans, top-notch live entertainment, great food, and the ever-popular beer garden for a day filled with joy, laughter, and art. Check out their action-packed schedule.

Proceeds from the Eatonville Arts Festival help the Lions Club provide eyeglasses and hearing aids for those who cannot afford them and allow donations to other worthy causes.

The Loggers’ Jubilee in the nearby town of Morton is a fabulous show with some of the top competitors in our country, guaranteed to entertain the whole family. Some competitive events include the axe throw, choker setting, log rolling, single and double bucking, stock and hot saw, springboard chop, speed climbing, tree topping, vertical and horizontal chop, and many more. The magic of THE POLAR EXPRESS™ comes to life in Elbe, Washington. This story of a child’s Christmas Eve journey comes alive on board THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride.  All ages can enjoy the warmth and fun of the Christmas season as you depart for a trip to the North Pole.

THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride, like the movie, is a 90-minute roundtrip immersive theatrical experience. Passengers will be entertained by Chefs, enjoy Hot Chocolate and Cookies, and listen to a reading of THE POLAR EXPRESS™Upon arrival at the North Pole, Santa will board the train and give each child the first gift of Christmas (a silver bell).   Families are encouraged to wear their pajamas for the ride and join in on the magic of Christmas!
